Pre-baby pals, promises that don't deliver, Apprentice failures...
Have some thoughts (oops, there I go thinking again!) appearing in a couple of newspapers today. In the Sun I've commented on their website about how new mums sometimes end up losing old friends because everything changes.
If you're a new mum there are some tips for managing your friendships once you enter motherhood.
E-mail me on my homepage and the "Gold Star" as I hope to post a new "your e-mail of the week" later today.
Then in today's Express newspaper I've commented on a piece about a certain type of self-help book - the ones that promise the earth, moon and stars! Self-help books can help kickstart change in your life - otherwise I wouldn't bother writing them myself - but you shouldn't buy into a book that promises to solve everything in your life.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: We're only human after all and we have hurdles and challenges probably on a daily basis. Some are small and some are enormous. Self-help books can give you lots of techniques to experiment with. But they can't give you some sort of trouble-free nirvana.
If you expect to simply send out thoughts asking the universe to bring you wealth, health, or happiness - it's a coincidence if it arrives. Otherwise all the people who've been asking the universe - or simply praying - for world peace, an end to poverty and famine, cures for diseases, etc., would've had their requests answered too. Sadly they haven't.
Wow, last night's Apprentice didn't fail to deliver, eh? And Dr Doolittle (classic Alan Sugar) deserved to go. Talk about not being able to organise a bake-up in a bakery! And although Monica's smart she sure has a mouth on her - going to have to watch that.
Woken up at 7 AM by an overenthusiastic radio producer wanting me to do a live interview about something in the press today…er…NO - not at that moment when without my massive cuppa tea I can’t think straight. Always happy to do early interviews but only when I've had a bit of notice.
Take care, Pam X
