Subtle signs of lust and no redeeming features...
I forgot to mention that I had a piece in Saturday's Sun about how to send someone you're attracted to some subtle and sly signals - it's on the Sun website if you're looking for love. It's amazing how subtle some of these signals of attraction are. But somehow our subconscious mind picks them up and we can sense when someone’s attracted to us...or rather in 'lust' with us during that early phase of sexual chemistry
Watched ‘A Prophet’ the other night - it's a gritty film about a young convict who somehow manages to develop a huge power base in prison. You know what the problem was for me? I love a gritty drama, which portrays the brutal realities of the situation, as much as the next person. But I do also like to have at least one character in such dramas who is rising above it - or at least trying hard to rise above it - or is likeable. There was no such character in this film.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it's a strange connection but somehow this reminds me of a conversation I had recently with a friend about trying to find some good in a person they work with (and I've met). We struggled hard to think of any redeeming feature this person has - she happens to be a very manipulative, untrustworthy, bullying type of character - the sort of person you wouldn't trust to look after her grandma! And yet my friend and I felt kind of bad that we couldn't find one good thing to say about her.
You see, I like to think there’s some good in everyone - sometimes you just have to search hard. I suppose it's worth the search even if like in this conversation we couldn't come up with anything. And the fact she bullied my friend (in their workplace) - who is a lovely person - made it a very hard endeavour.
On a lighter note I’m loving ‘Why don't you’ - atrack by Gramaphonedzie - fab the way they've mixed 1940s swing with club beats.
I wonder if you, like me, have a long day of work ahead - but thankfully I'm catching up with an old friend for a light dinner and drinks tonight. Take care, Pam X
