Horrifying pictures...
Seeing more of the horrifying pictures coming out of Haiti last night made me get straight on to UNICEF and make a donation to their Haiti children's fund. If you can spare even a few £s then please do! Every little bit helps. Having spent a couple weeks in Dominican Republic with the family a couple years ago, I know when we travelled around we were given the sternest warnings not to go anywhere near the Haitian border.
It's already such a hugely troubled country. It's a cruel blow to add the earthquake on top of the poverty and violence that’s part of everyday life there. It reminds me to my count my blessings for the good things we have in this country!
I don't want to preach so moving on a very light note, hearing the track "gay bar" on the radio (by Electric six) reminded me of a very funny Armstrong and Miller sketch from their series before Christmas. Alexander Armstrong’s playing the piano in a Victorian parlour and suddenly starts picking out the keys to this song - hilarious – it’d be a crime if they don't get another series!
Meeting an old friend for lunch at a place with amazing salads in South Kensington. Feels like I haven't had a girl's lunch for ages - where we talk about our men, our children, plus gossip - lovely! It's so relaxing to have a lunch that's not with a colleague or about work - a real treat. This place also sells some fab desserts so I might be tempted by a hot chocolate brownie.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: have you treated yourself lately? Because we all need little treats! Life can be so fraught that I try and build in as many little -even tiny - treats as possible. I guess I'm easily pleased - a hot melting chocolate brownie is heaven on earth. It doesn't take much to keep me happy - and maybe that's the key.
Not sure if I mentioned that research that came out recently suggesting there isn't a G spot. My feeling? If you think you've got a super-sensitive area that gets aroused during sex then you can call it what you want. Also no one should feel pressure that they have to find the G spot! You know what's better than worrying about finding a specific pleasure spot? Simply sex-perimenting with your lover with different positions that stimulate different spots/area.
So here's to some sex-perimentation this weekend! Pam x
