Too big for sex?
Was out last night so taped Big Brother - wonder what "characters" await me! Covent Garden was like being in Paris - the rain had stopped and people spilling out on the pavement although we had a nice little table in Box Bar… just in case the drizzle returned.
So looking forward to doing an interview on Suntalk radio at 1:10 - about a topic below. And also at 2.00 on Irish radio station Spin 1038 - love a great chat about topics I know affects so many women.
Oh gaawwd we women are so awful to ourselves - seen the reports in today's paper along the lines of Not tonight dear, I'm fat reminds me of body image research I've done which found exactly what this study has: that we women are riddled with fears about our body that can destroy our sex lives. But I also found that women are riddled with fears when it comes to things like changing in front of friends, say, on a shopping trip or at the gym.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I could give you loads of advice here that please see my article in the "powerful living" section about body image. The one thing I will say here is men do not see us the way we do. It's the rare man who's critical of his girlfriend's or wife’s body! Remember that when you're being so self-critical and worried what he's thinking. And I've also mentioned this issue in my Love it! Magazine column this week.
Also in today's press there's a piece that Relationship break-ups hit men hardest - We women might be mystified by this as so many men seem to dive straight into the arms of a new woman after a breakup.
But let's face it girls, they do this because they simply can't cope with the loneliness and isolation after a breakup. Many men don't have the friends we do to rely on to help them through the dark nights and dismal days.
So many resort to "quick fixes" in their misery (like rebound relationships) or take inappropriate action (like drown their sorrows at the pub, etc.) to make sure they're not on their own. And if they don't find a woman to 'cure' their loneliness, they end up more lonely, depressed and miserable then you'd guess.
I relationships section of my site there are a couple articles about handling a breakup if you're in the situation.
Later on I’m posting a new "your e-mail of the week" so get yours in! Hmmm, I think this week I won't make it a raunchy sex tip. Hugs, Pam X
