Date nights, environment, spiders...
So Victoria Beckham has said "date nights" are important to keep the sparkle in her marriage to David - always glad to see a couple of 11 years trying to make things work. In today's Daily Express newspaper I've given some tips from rekindling romance… mind you, nothing hot as it is a family newspaper.
A word of warning about date nights though, unfortunately Victoria's in the minority and although I do recommend couples try them - because they can be a success - to be honest they fail for many couples.
One or the other partner (or sometimes both) ends up dreading them, they feel contrived, they become a drudgery.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if something like a date night feels contrived to you - or your partner - then come up with your own plan to make things work.
Because what's the choice? It's easy to think the grass is greener out there. You give up on a relationship after five, 10, 20 years falsely believing you'll find love again. Check out the "love and romance" section on my homepage - there are lots of articles about improving your relationship.
V disappointed to miss Bill Bailey's opening night at Wyndham's Theatre tonight due to circumstances beyond my control. He's always phenomenal live. Enjoy if you're going!
Over to the environment - It's the biggest mystery of the year - evidently the report into the Gulf oil disaster has let BP off the hook. Go to take a closer look at it. Oh p*o, you know I'm a massive Obama fan and it doesn't make his remarks post-oil spill look good. One thing’s sure, each and every one of us have to do our best not to leave lights on, keep the heating on excessively, etc.
Phobias - oh dear, lots of pictures of Help I'm a celebrity in the papers today - with lots of spider images. Er, I have self-treated my spider phobia but still don't love looking at their photos!
Looking forward to getting my hands on Cee Lo Green's Lady Killer album - I'm sure he's captured a few ladies with his talent! Woohoo, already booked to see the Foo Fighters next July!
For the girls again: was talking about my love of both cheap and chic make-up the other day - well, if you've ever walked past a luxury beauty counter and they're giving a "bonus" if you buy two products, etc., I got roped in the other day at the Lancome counter...they had a great offer and I really like a couple of their products so decided to splurge on their new Genifique Yeux - eye cream - to take advantage of their "bonus".
Definitely dried out the skin around my eyes - not a good look for 'smile' lines! Unless you have very oily skin I wouldn't recommend it.
Enjoy your Tuesday, Pam x
