The big 'baby' question rears its head...
Today on my iVillage.co.uk blog I've answered a question from a woman who's been with her boyfriend for seven years and would love to marry him and have children. He’s up for the wedding part but not so sure about the children. This issue has come up twice in one week for me to discuss. If this is bothering you then you can see my answer to her on the iVillage site.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: You know about half of the reasons why I see couples break up is because they haven't discussed major issues before moving in or getting hitched. They've drifted along assuming everything's going to be okay. They might want to have children - or to live in Australia - or go work for a charity in Africa - and they don't discuss these things!
If you don't talk about them you don't know how your partner's going to feel - and you might be surprised by their reaction. Sometimes people are scared to raise these big questions. Other times they live in ‘Lala’ land and think it’ll go their way. No, those are the things that might break you up! So do speak about these things even if raising the conversation is daunting.
I'm going to try and avoid the Brit coverage today as we didn't get to see it last night and I’ve recorded it. We had a family member and friend over for dinner last night - which I assumed was going to be a ‘quick’ dinner - and then we’d watch the Brits. Instead it went on and on and by the time they left it was bedtime. Just wondering if there were any celebs behave in badly??
