‘Smaller picture’ happiness...
Had a fab Indian meal last night with an incredibly tasty chicken Rajestani - very flavourful - could taste the mint and mango, etc. Has inspired me to get out our Indian cookery books. Hmm… didn't see any music worth reporting and I don't like slagging off young bands that maybe had a bad night - so I won't mention any names.
When we got home late last night I indulged in my guilty pleasure – Eastenders - that I had on the planner. It was a ‘doubleheader’ with Max and Stacey - although they're both fine actors I felt it kept covering the same ground in the dialogue. I know, it's a soap opera and shallow and predictable but I'm hooked.
Just came from chocolate heaven at Hotel Chocolat where I bought some Easter treats for family and friends – OMG - if you want some very special chocolate Easter eggs, with fabulous chocolates inside, then pay them a visit. I could spend all day in there! Another bizarre quirk of mine is because I'm such a chocoholic I simply get thrills and happiness from looking at gorgeously made chocolates.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I wonder what little thing you enjoy most that's not about getting something, buying something, doing something - but it's just about enjoying it. Another thing for me, that's a simple pleasure, is simply watching my two cats - the things they get up to and their personalities which are so very different. I could watch them all day. I hope you enjoy a simple pleasure today - we get so caught up in doing things that we never sit back and look at the things around us that are beautiful. In one chapter of my new book How to be a Happy Human I've written about ‘bigger picture’ and ‘smaller picture’ happiness and today I'm thinking about ‘smaller picture’ happiness and my memories of chocolate heaven from that shop this morning.
Oh dear, Peaches Geldof in the press again today for her wild child ways. She is such a beautiful looking girl, and undoubtedly smart too, but seems to be looking for ‘something’ - and it's not going to come from partying.
Enjoy your weekend, love, Pam X
