A lesson from Wagner, men's health...
You've got to hand it Wagner on the X Factor last night- not a sob or gasp, or self-pity on display when it was his time to go. There’s a lesson in there for the rest of the contestants.
And surprisingly Katie didn't collapse to the floor when she was first out last night. Wonder if all the rumours that Simon Cowell’s going to give her a recording contract no matter where she placed are going to come true or not.
No matter what you think about any of these contestants it's frightening the level of hate some of them have faced from Internet campaigns. Where does all this anger come from?
Looking forward to the Terrence Higgins Trust early Christmas party/event tonight. It's always a sparkling affair and last year I stood right next to Danni Minogue who was one of the star guests - wonder if she'll be there tonight? She had the most perfect porcelain skin - incredibly pretty woman.
Sticking with related issues a report from Men’s Health finds that men won't go to the GP even when pretty darned ill because they fear being ridiculed. This is so true - the hubby won't go unless he’s dying.
I worked with a government initiative a decade ago on getting men to take their prostate health seriously. It was the same picture then. Men ignore all sorts of symptoms till sadly sometimes it's too late.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Come on guys, you're not a wimp if you go to the doctor - don't ignore symptoms!
If anything we women find it more frustrating that you won't go when it's obvious you need to. We don't see it as a pride issue when we go - so please take any symptoms seriously.
Turkey sandwiches for the next three days for lunch after Thanksgiving feast yesterday. Didn't have a chance to watch the next instalment of Any Human Heart on Channel 4 last night… hoping it doesn't disappoint.
Happy Monday, Pam X
