I'm a very Happy Human today...
YAY - I'm very excited that officially my new book How to Be a Happy Human - 10 essential principles to change your life is published today! It's definitely available online but won't hit the shops for another week or two as is always the case with publication dates. Still, I'm going to have a little celebration tonight and see a couple of old friends I've shared many happy times with.
After speaking to literally thousands of people over many years about what made them happy and what made them unhappy, I've distilled all these amazing stories and information from these interviews down into 10 Happiness Principles. If we arm ourselves with these, we can change our lives for the better, and grab hold of happiness when it comes our way, and create it within our lives.
Btw, I've put up a photo from Lose Women plus a few from my ski trip - check out the crash helmet if you want to have a laugh! I had a great chat with the fabulous Russell Watson in the green room on Friday when I was there. He asked me what I thought about fate and chance and the role it plays in our happiness. I think it plays a big role in our lives-- since our lives are so unpredictable - BUT it's within your power to decide how you respond to what 'chance' has thrown up in your pathway. Russell is phenomenal considering he's survived brushes with death and is still an upbeat and positive person.
Have you ever thought about how cash-compatible you are - or aren't - with your partner? Cash compatibility is key to your relationship success. I've written about this in today's Express newspaper - now more than ever this is a crisis area for couples who might also be struggling with cash flow problems in this recession. If you're in that situation you can check out my advice in the newspaper today.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: money troubles are the main reasons cited for a full third of relationships breaking down. And it's not just the stress that a lack of money can put on a couple, but it's also your potentially very different attitudes. If you're a ‘saver’ and your partner’s a ‘spender’ that's just asking for trouble unless you two talk things through and agree how you manage your budget.
Thought Plan B was fairly rubbish on Jonathan Ross (which is a shame as their last single was completely fab) on Friday night. But then again no matter what job you’re in, you have ‘good days’ and you have ‘bad days’. It's the same with performing.
A big memo to Ashley Cole and anyone else who's cheated on their partner: if you think you can win back Cheryl by swaggering into a meeting with her you've got another thing coming. You have so got to show that you'll do anything in your power to change and prove you're worth another chance.
Later today, between meetings, I'm posting the new "your e-mail of the week". Thanks for your amazing e-mails about what makes you happy and what makes you unhappy. Love, Pam X p.s. Saturday night I spoke to the new host at BBC radio London, Jonathon Lampon about monogamy and happiness and relationships. He was lovely, check him out!
