I kept my temper in check + sexy black leather boots
This is about the time when you might've broken your New Year's resolutions - if you have a mo’ check out my piece in today's Express Newspaper on making 2010 your best year ever. There are tips on how to change your life (at least in small ways) without failing - as we do with resolutions!
Vetoed going out to the country Saturday night for a friend's birthday party - obviously they understood with the icey raods. But it was nice to watch a couple DVDs with some pals: George Clooney in Up in the Air - I'd give it a 3.5 stars - I could see what they were doing revealing his lonely disconnected lifestyle as a man who flies all over the States to companies who hire him to fire staff. But I hated what happened with his ‘love interest’- I won't give it away, though.
Then we watched The Lovely Bones - a film I believe was ruined by overly-long and outrageous fantasy scenes of tragic murder victim Susie Salmon hovering between the living and heaven. These could’ve been so much more subtle and atmospheric - instead they were Disney-like.
It was a fraught on Saturday trying to get the new ovens installed - managed to chip the white enamel surface on one- very annoying when you have a new appliance (let's face it, that's not very often) and you want them to look brand spanking new!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: the hours spent over installing the ovens meant I was on guard for my slightly short temper. I've become better over the years at identifying what can set me off on keeping it under control. Today, just try and identify one thing that winds you up - and with that one thing try and come up with an alternative reaction - and ideally a solution.
Got some amazing ove-the-knee black leather boots in the sale last week which I wore the first time on Saturday evening. Personally I think over the knee boots are a super sexy - think Hubby agrees!
Have a great Monday, Pam X
