Soothing voices and break ups...
Loving Mike Snow Animal right now - can't get the tune out of my head!
Had another one of those "connecting-with-an-old-friend moments" yesterday afternoon at the Century Club - was so great to see this particular pal who's a radio presenter in London with the sort of voice that can soothe away stresses and strains. I could listen to him talk all day, his tone is so reassuring no matter what he's saying. Do you know someone with a voice like that? One of the first things I fell in love with about my hubby was his laugh - it's got an amazing quality somewhere between cheeky and 'knowing' - v sexy!
Then I made a quick dash to Lo Profile in Soho to see another friend who wanted to catch their delicious two-for-one cocktails. He went through a big breakup in the summer and it's great to see him doing so well. In fact a number of my friends have been through break-ups this year (was there something in the atmosphere??) - and it brings home how no two break-ups are the same. No two people are hurt by the same things, they're affected in different ways, and they obsess about different things about "what went wrong".
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if you've been through a breakup please let people know you're suffering rather than keeping a fake smile strapped to your face. It never helps to keep it all bottled up. Yes, there are times when your breakup should be kept private and, say, you can’t be sobbing at your desk at work! Please check out my ‘love and relationships’ section for a couple different breakup articles with lots of advice.
Must dash - have meetings and want to get stuck into a feature I'm writing for The Sun with a Christmas theme - it's well and truly morphing into that time of year - feel like I'm being sucked down an inevitable path. I really hope that you'll - as I'm trying this year - make it more about the important stuff.
Keep happy, Pam x
