Say something soppy today...
A warning:something weird has happened which I cant fix until Monday - every time I put an apostrophe it also puts a 'forward slash' mark - so please excuse this glitch in what follows!
Blast it's raining - we're driving down to Kent for a lovely Saturday lunch with our oldest friends and we were hoping it'd be sunshine all the way! I was hoping we could eat outside but that looks unlikely.
Very excited as I received the first ‘author’s’ copies of my new book How to be a Happy Human - it's a weird sensation holding something you worked so long and hard on in your hands. It makes me think the ups and downs of happiness and unhappiness in my life and how over the years I've shared some amazing time with friends. But they've also got me through my bad times and I hope I've done the same to them. I can’t wait to do give my girlfriend a copy today when we get to hers. And I'm going to write a big soppy message in it for her!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: is there anyone you need to give a big soppy message to? Is there someone you should tell how important they are to you? Don't leave it another day! Time slips by and we often don't say the things we want to, so be brave today and do it!
I'm also going to bring some chocolates and a big saucisson (I think that's the correct French spelling for sausage/salami) that we brought back from France. We brought a load of them - some covered in herbs, some covered in peppers, some with hazelnuts in them, etc. I've been handing them out when I see friends wrapped in nice tissue paper. Bit of a bizarre ‘pressie’, I know! But I like it when friends bring me a ‘taste’ of where they've been.
More bumph in the papers today about why Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes's marriage has collapsed after seven years - I still say it's about massive egos who don't feel they should compromise over the issues most couples face.
Yay - heard The Drums on Radio One - and there I was recommending them about two months ago in this blog. Check them out!
Have an amazing weekend, love, Pam X
