Mothers and sons and their fiances plus music to my ears....
V disappointed to turn down doing a body language analysis of Take That on Sky news this afternoon but absolutely chock-a-block. They're such a great team out there and they give you lots of time to talk through the body language signals...another time.
Racing to finish writing a website feature before my weekly radio slot on Dublin Newstalk after 11 AM.
I've had a heads up from the producer about some of the questions we're tackling today including a dilemma a mother’s facing. Her son and his fiance had gone to Thailand and randomly got married on a beach. She's hurt and disappointed - I'd feel exactly the same way if my son and his lovely girlfriend went off and got married like that.
I'm going to tell her she's not ‘wrong’ to feel hurt but she'd be wrong to make them feel guilty about it. They're in love and were captivated by the romance of marrying on the beach by themselves.
So here's the solution - ask if the family can throw them a post-wedding service or even a registry office service to make sure it's all legal!
It'd be amazing if family and their friends could share in a belated celebration.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: sometimes it only takes thinking past your immediate feelings - that you've been 'wronged' - to find a solution that will mend fences.
Can't believe it - just heard Wolfgang on Radio 1 - it's music to my ears -and there I wasn't recommending him about six weeks ago. If you like an Arcade Fire- and MGMT-type sound then check out Wolfgang!
How funny, there I was saying that I didn't like the Pierces (sisters out of New York) only to see them recommended by a music reviewer. Would love to know if you have any good music recommendations - get in touch on "your e-mail of the week".
And what was I saying about Wagner? Looks like a Facebook campaign's keeping him in. No fear if you really like some of the X Factor contestants - if they're good enough they'll get a record contract no matter who wins the contest.
Enjoy your Tuesday! Pam X
