Your handbag reveals all, camp sides, funky tunes...
Hope you missed the thunderstorms!
Just received a copy of June's issue of Spirit & Destiny mag - I mentioned a photo shoot and feature I did for them. It was a lot of fun...all can be revealed...they took me (as a behaviour expert) and Tracy Higgs (a psychic medium) and had us delve into the handbags of three women – Louise, Ann & Moushymi – and give our individual analysis – obviously without meeting them or knowing even their names or ages till after we'd analysed their handbags.
Phew, Tracy and I both did well and it was a great afternoon. We women and our handbags - they're a microcosm of our lives revealing so much.
After a lot of evenings out this week we had a chilled out Friday night and watched a few episodes of Modern Family on DVD - missed it on Sky 1 - absolutely hysterical - highly recommend it! The strange thing is a couple of the characters remind me of people I know - then again I suppose that's the beauty of great comedy writing - capturing the comedy in some of our lives.
One of the characters – Mitchell - one half of a gay couple - reminds me so much of a friend of mine - he plays down his camp side when he feels he needs to... but I love him the way he is and think he should be himself.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Then again, don't we all play down certain ‘sides’ of ours when we're in public? I tend to play down my silly side, just as this particular friend plays down his camp side.
I suppose we have to emphasise the particular side to our personality that’s relevant to the situation - for me it's often commenting about serious subjects like sex addiction on yesterday's Vanessa Show. The crucial thing's being yourself when you're with your loved ones - being accepted warts and all.
Yet another funky tune that I can’t get out of my head - Aloe Blacc’s I Need a Dollar – the hubby tells me off for singing along – can’t sing a note that isn't flat!
Happy weekend, Pamx
