The measure of a man, human touch, the knives will be out...
Today we hear the last action of the evil Osama bin Laden was to turn his youngest wife into a human shield - cowardice and cruelty of the highest order. My father (who was old-fashioned in these ways) used to say that one of the main measure of a man was the way he treated a woman. Old-fashioned or not it's so true and bin Laden was the lowest type of man...can't even call him a man and wouldn't insult animals to call him an animal.
On to happier things - had a lovely chat last night with Sue Marchant on BBC radio Cambridgeshire/East Anglia. We chatted about everything from the royal wedding, body language, the importance of touch and affection in a relationship, to dream analysis, and more. I gave advice on a few interesting dilemmas.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: one e-mailer wanted to know how to reconnect with her partner - she was desperate for some physical affection - she wasn't worried about rekindling their sex life but she was craving some human contact. That's very natural, we were born to crave the touch of another human.
My advice if you're in this situation is to start small - reach out in conversation and touch their arm or shoulder. Build from there and then get the courage to ask for a proper hug. Make it clear you don't want anything more than that. Good luck!
I've always said athletes shouldn't have to abstain from sex before a match, etc., and obviously Andy Murray agrees - let's hope private matches with his girlfriend up his game!
So the knives will be out for wag Abbey Clancy as she regains her pre-pregnancy figure in two months. For some people weight loss comes naturally and for others you can tell they've been dieting. She looks fit and healthy but I can hear the criticisms of female columnists already. Lose weight at your own rate after pregnancy - take your time - be fit and well for you and your baby - don't worry about others!
Went to a yummy barbecue lunch yesterday - was all bangers and chops - very tasty. Think the royal wedding has inspired everyone to cook British!
Got to write my iVillage.co.uk blog - have a great day, Pam x
