More bad behvaiour...
Another beautiful day - we've got the treasure it because the weather’is supposed to be changing a couple days!
At 11:15 this morning I'm giving an interview to the BBC Asian network – Sonia Deol’s show although I gather Sonia's ill so Noreen’s standing in. I haven't given an interview to the Asian network for some time now - maybe 18 months - but it's always a pleasure speaking to their presenters because they actually take the time to get to the heart of the matter.
Today we're discussing some of the principles in my new book How to be a Happy Human - listen in on the Net if you have a chance.
So many things in the press today have caught my eye including - here's a couple:
Inside the mind of a male cheat - as the Ronan and Yvonne Keating story develops you've got to ask why so many male stars - who have everything - cheat?!
In my experience there are common strands in the personalities of the celebrity men who have been caught cheating over the last year... John Terry, Ashley Cole, Vernon Kay (okay, so he was ‘text’ cheating) and now Ronan. I find they have massive egos combined with very low confidence. You'd never believe men like this - who are at the top of their game -have low confidence, but I find they do.
It's a toxic mix when someone has a big ego - that needs feeding - and low confidence that they really don't believe in themselves - and so they love it when they get things like female attention.
Television ruined my relationship! Also did you see the research about how one in 10 people care more about television than their partner - unbelievable! If your life has come to that then you've got to turn it around.
I've been told many stories about couples whose relationships have been ruined by one or the other being 'addicted' to TV. Take my friend (I'll call her Anna) who was driven to despair by her husband's 24/7 sports television viewing habits. His life was dominated by sports TV and so her life became dominated to. It was only after Anna to a drastic step of separating from him that he took her seriously and got his 'addiction' sorted out.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: it's no joke - I've known couples whose relationships have been ruined by one partner zoning out completely in front of the TV. Come on, we all like to zone out from time to time and I've got my favourite "zombie TV" in the shape of Eastenders. But if your partner’s complaining about your viewing habits you need to listen up.
Try and break your viewing in half - only allow yourself half the amount of time for a couple weeks. Do other things on the evening you're not watching. Start to enjoy life again and you'll find it's worth it! It's too short to spend your time in front of the TV.
Must dash, love, Pam X
