Life crises and second rate love affair...
I'm looking forward to chatting to JoAnne at BBC Radio West Midlands at 945 this morning at 945 about midlife crises and how they affect relationships. I think I've had a perpetual ‘life crisis’ since about age 25 - I'm always wanting to do and try new things. And I've always had ‘restless feet syndrome’ - always wanting to travel or move house. But loved ones expect that from me... they know it's not really a crisis.
The big ‘but’ is - but if you've always been a person that stuck to your routine it can seriously affect your partner if suddenly you go through some sort of life crisis and want to throw things up in the air.
On my weekly iVillage.co.uk blog today I discuss a woman's dilemma at leaving the man she's having an affair with. My question is why did she stay so long with him? Why did she even begin their affair?
TODAY’S THOUGHT: she's been stuck getting second rate treatment from this love cheat for a few years. No surprises there! But you might get second rate treatment from all sorts of situations - not necessarily an affair. You're stuck wondering why you're still there - in a job with a nasty boss, going out with a toxic friend, bad treatment from a family member - the list is endless. You may dream of finding the strength to get out. Find your strength today!
Yay, going to have lunch with a couple of pals that I haven't seen for six months… have worked on various websites with them for years now - as always, it'll be somewhere cheap and cheerful but it's the company that counts.
Sending you some sunny vibes on this very grey Wednesday, Pam X
