Too much nastiness and Monday nights were made for going out
Today I'm loving The Drums - a new band (at least in my world) from New York - 'Let's go surfing' is bound to put you in a good mood.
I don't think people are quite ‘getting’ it with the Katie Price debate - yeah sure I’d jump at doing six fairly horrible trials in a row for £250,000 (allegedly the amount she picks up despite having left early) - but it's what’s going on behind the public voting - the public punishment aspect that got to her - knowing that people want to put you through as many "ordeals" as possible. If I'd been in her shoes feeling that nasty vibe there'd be two choices in my eyes: either bail out as she did or get on with it, sticking two fingers up to people.
But if I'd had such young children I never would've left them potentially three weeks anyway.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: With so much bad feeling around try being nice to someone who maybe you've been ignoring or simply never have much time for at work. You'd be surprised how a little bit of kindness can go a huge way in someone else's life - and your own.
I’ve decided that going out on a Monday night is my new favourite thing to do. Met up with a pal last night at Lo Profile so he could have one of his favourite cocktails before we went on to the Century Club to have a casual dinner on the roof terrace. It was beautiful, lit with little candles and fairy lights - very romantic - except of course this particular pal is not interested in women so my hubby didn't need to worry!
Yesterday I had a feature in The Express newspaper about shyness and our waiter last night could only be described as shy. Actually it's a great challenge for a shy person to have to speak to all sorts of people throughout the evening. You know how I feel about challenges - we all need them!
Well it's back to work - there's stacks of it on my desk and I'm looking forward to speaking to the lovely Tom Dunne on my weekly ‘agony’ slot at 11 AM on Dublin News Talk. Lots of love, Pam x
