Oscars glamour and the less glamorous side of relationships...
No surprises that Colin won Best actor - he was phenomenal! And no surprises about Natalie Portman although her speech was a bit too schmaltzy thanking her parents for "giving her life". I'm about as sentimental as as you can get but even that's a step too treacly.
Wow, some phenomenal dresses at the Oscars last night - the winning gown for me was Anna Hathaway’s figure hugging , red number with the flamenco tail as well as Naomi Campbell's gold sequinned fishtail gown.
Now, on the other hand I'd sack the stylist if I was Hallee Steinfield (True Grit) ... so old-fashioned for a 14-year-old.
Love the glitz and glamour of the Oscars but fear the enormity of the carbon footprint.
In the Mail today I've commented on a huge survey into relationship happiness. One aspect of this research has shown that about the five-year mark in a relationship women feel less happy... definite food for thought.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I know from the amount of women I speak to in my work that this is very much about feeling responsible for keeping things ticking over in the relationship.
We women tend to do much more of the romantic maintenance and it can be incredibly frustrating. it's not that we expect things to be as passionate as the first year is - heavens above we'd be exhausted! But women can be made to feel less than glamorous when they no longer get a compliment, a goodbye kiss in the morning, a flirty text, etc.
So guys, listen up, do your share of maintaining the good vibe between you and keeping things ticking over nicely - don't get lazy when you get in your "comfort zone"!
I’m loving You and Me at Six, Rescue Me - great tune, check it out.
Happy Monday, Pamx
