Very annoyed and find your inner quirk...
Very annoyed that I've got another cold (two since Christmas - think I'm burning the candle at both ends!) and have to cancel meetings and seeing a couple friends today. I don't know how you arrange your day but because I often have back-to-back meetings, or big blocks of writing to do, I cherish seeing friends.
Have made a good start on writing my next book which will be published in late October. It's a strange feeling being so involved in my new book officially been published April 6 though it's available on Amazon now - How to Be a Happy Human - but at the same time thinking about a totally different book. That's the life of a writer - juggling many ideas and having to put some on paper - hopefully unless you get a "block".
TODAY’S THOUGHT: one of my quirks when it comes to time management is doing everything in 10 minutes increments, rather than the standard 15 minute increments which I think the average person uses. Sometimes people sound surprised when I say, "let's have that conference call at 2:10 PM" - reacting with, "do you mean 2:15?" Err, actually I don't!
The point of this thought is that you need to find your 'inner quirk' and work in a way that helps you be most productive and most efficient. And if it means having a quirk like mine that are obvious to other people like thinking in 10 minutes increments - then so be it.
I forgot to say I saw the film Precious - traumatic and moving in equal measure. I did have a problem with her ‘fantasy scenes’ - a psychological mechanism she uses to escape the reality of being abused. Yup, of course people use various psychological defence mechanisms to blot out some unpleasant truths, but the way these were filmed they were very clunky, in an otherwise great film. Definitely not a film to see if you're feeling down or on a first date!!
Have a lovely Thursday, love, Pam X
