The 'snowbound effect', cougars and chocolate chip cookies....
Yesterday was fab - the radio interviews for the film It's Complicated went fantastically - had loads of fun with the team at Cameo productions who were amazing.
Spoke to 13 different radio stations including Lara King at BBC Humberside who is always fun, Annwen at British Forces broadcasting, Pat Marsh at BBC Kent, Katy Martin at BBC Solent, and lots of other fab presenters.
Put a pic up on the site of the Cameo team plus Lucy from Universal films with me looking a touch frazzled after those interviews! And you must be thinking, "what on earth is she wearing?" - it looks like I'm wearing something strange but it's a little 'smocked' dress from Cult in Edinburgh (got it in the summer when Up at the festival) - looks like I'm wearing a baby's bib!
Experiencing the "snowbound phenomenon" - have had all meetings cancelled today by others who can’t get in. And you know what? It's going to be lovely tucked up in my office getting on with some things that I've been putting aside.
But evidently my feelings about being snowbound are fairly unique - most of my pals and colleagues are complaining/annoyed that they’re "stuck at home" - the same ones who often complain they never have enough time at home! Are we ever happy?
TODAY’S THOUGHT: If you're stuck at home today why don't you do something creative that you've been putting off because you haven't had enough time. Once I've done some work for the sexual health campaign "Worth Talking About" for the Department of Health I've been helping on, I'm getting stuck into finishing sorting out pix for a photo album I'm putting together.
It's so easy to put things off that we supposedly want to do and then when we have time to fret about not being able to get on with our work.
Do what's in front of you and enjoy being at home. If you're feeling lonely - actually missing the office?? - then ring up a friend - but appreciate the fact that you've got time - maybe just to relax.
Oh, and another thing I'm going to do? Make some of my famous hot chocolate chip cookies…yum… just what’s needed on a freezing cold day.
Gave some quotes to Scarlet magazine the other day about 'cougars' - the older women who only date young studs. Made me think of Stephanie Beacham in the celebrity Big Brother house who seems to be getting some really good publicity as a hot older woman. I believe she's happily in a relationship but if she was single it seems she could have a career as a cougar!
Had a phenomenal soak in a steaming hot bath last night with some wonderful grapefruit scented bubble bath from Molton Brown I was given at Christmas. Honestly I could eat the stuff it smells so fantastic!
I hope you enjoy your day and aren't stuck somewhere you don't want to be because of the weather, take care, Pam X
