It's a girls-only weekend...
Yay, I've got a Kindle - just need time to get familiar with the instructions!
Having a completely girls’ weekend as the hubby has gone fishing somewhere around Bristol with our son. After Friday carousing with my gal-pals and a long lunch at the Tunbridge Wells Bar and Grill of all places (some of my pals live in Kent) Saturday was spent partly in Top Shop, partly in a little local boutique, then having amazing salads, then watching X Factor and catching up on Come Dine with Me.
I saw my dream home in the Surrey episode where the businesswoman has Rococo ceilings and a simply ab-fabulous home - I want to live there!
X Factor has come to the gripping part for me - and tonight I'm looking forward to seeing who goes through to the final 12. Can’t take the blonde, Madonna/Gaga wannabe… she's just too desperate. Where's her mum to tell her to tone-down this wanting to be a celebrity stuff?? Lovin’ some of the others though.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: All of these things are about personal taste. Last night we had some heated discussion about loving and hating some of the hopefuls. Ultimately they're looking for a good show (high ratings) so they might put through people who are bound to get attention even if they have less talent.
Such is life - I've worked in places where I've seen people less qualified or less talented get ahead of colleagues who are more qualified/talented. Because, for whatever reason, someone with the power to do so wants to push them up the greasy pole - and it's the same with X Factor having their reasons to push some of the hopefuls forward and dump the rest.
Sadly it's not all about talent and that's the lesson we must all learn!
Enjoy your Sunday and let's hope for a bit of sunshine, Pam X
