Sexy rock chick, the perfect lunch date, pretty stupid research...
Caught some of Jo Wiley's last programme on Radio 1 yesty as I was unpacking - there were some very funny moments where bands like Blue paid tribute to her. I’m completely erratic when it comes to my radio listening - R4, R1, Classic, Absolute, X FM, etc. - completely depends on my mood what I listen to - but I’ll miss her slightly gravelly, very sexy rock-chick tones when I'm in the mood for Radio 1.
Looking forward to a working lunch today with a very interesting man - no, the hubby doesn't have to worry as he knows him too...but he is a man who is both thoughtful and entertaining - a good combination for a lunch date.
Talk about ridiculous and obvious research - a completely unsurprising study from St Andrews University found that attractive women don't play on the first date...yeah, right, as if a man's going to tell the Cameron Diaz look-alike he's been lusting after, "Oi, luv, you gotta pay your way!' The world just doesn't work like that. I can’t believe someone at such a great institution thought that was the way to spend research funds!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: putting looks aside, who pays for what in the first couple dates is a minefield for many people. You've got to do what you think is right. No embarrassment, no fluffing around, just say if you want to pay your way.
And if there is a question mark I think the person who did ‘the asking’ should pay the first date.
Have a rather late recommendation - check out Romance - how come so many good bands come out of Seattle?
Finally caught up on the week of EastEnders I missed – flippin’ heck when are they going to sort out the Ronnie and Kat baby-swap storyline!? And what's got into Kat over Alfie? The writers have got that wrong with her thinking about leaving him.
Happy Monday, Pam X
