From the tragic to daily life: Strictly Come Dancing dilemma, X F eviction, friends of all ages...
Tragic to read of anyone's suicide - shocking that Gary Speed evidently took his own life. There's always someone to reach out to - if you're desperate please ring the Samaritans - 08457-909090. You're not on your own. Please don't struggle on your own.
And on to happier things and the basic stuff of daily life - I'm v excited to be invited to the recording of the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special tonight as a friend's dancing in it... but it's 4 hours long and I'm under the flipping cosh with deadlines - I might go watch her dance and then slip out of the green room... a bit naughty of me.
Over to X Factor - wasn't surprised it was the end of the line for Janet. Feel for her forgetting the words in the Hanson tune - but it's one of the easiest things in the world to remember and proof it's all too much pressure for her.
But Gary's become so cruel - when Dermot asked who he would've axed if it had come to him, he gleefully said Janet without a moment's thought.
TODAY’S TIP: If you, like Janet, freeze up in the middle of a presentation, speech, etc., smile, don't do the rabbit caught in the headlights eyes, breathe deeply for a moment and then resume.
You're much more likely to conquer your terror at having lost the plot then if you allow the nerves to take overyour mind. I always suggest preparing for such a moemtn when prepping a talk...put yourself in the worst case scenario and PLAN how you'd cope.
Had a real treat of a Sunday lunch yesty at the Bluebird restaurant, Kings Road with a family member and a couple younger friends... I'm not ageist at all - I've got friends nearly 50 years older than me and 20 years younger - you can learn from and cherish friends of all ages.
Don't understand people who only have friends their own age. Friendship is precious wherever it comes from.
Roz-Ana Indian restaurant in Kingston, Surrey has gorgeous food - so I am name checking it. A real treat on Saturday night.
Happy Monday, Pam x
