Five days isn't a cure, the rebound, say No, cat cuddles...
The sun's desperately trying to make a return - fingers crossed - what a mood booster! Although I have a couple pals running the marathon today so I know they don't want to get too hot.
Speaking of mood many columnists have been questioning how Catherine Zeta Jones can be "cured" of bipolar disorder after a five-day stint at the clinic. Of course she's not claiming to be cured! They've got the wrong end of the stick. Obviously it was a much-needed respite and perhaps the time to look at medication options.
After a load of chores yesterday (including me running round the shops looking for birthday presents for the hubby for next week - I'm not a natural born shopper - would rather stick pins in my eyes. He loves loud shirts and thankfully this summer 'loud' seems to be the leading choice for men's wear) we were feeling lazy before we went out to dinner we watched Tropic Thunder – hilarious though maybe a touch over-long.
I shouldn't mix champagne and red wine - as I did last night at our friends’ dinner - I'm too much of a ‘lightweight’ when it comes to alcohol and ended up with a rebound at 3 AM - wide awake. I should just stick to little or no alcohol as I can get the giggles either way and have just as good time.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: but there’s a big problem with pressure, wherever you go, to have your glass filled up - I have absolutely no problem saying No but it's when you're caught off guard and someone’s filled your glass when you're in the loo that you can lose track. Don't ever feel embarrassed to say No! Some of the best people come unstuck otherwise.
So off to friends’ for Sunday lunch where fruit juice is going to be on the menu for me... then probably more chores - do they ever end??
And hopefully a cuddle with my cats - Leo and Tinker - later on who are behaving a bit bonkers with the arrival of spring. Nothing like a cat cuddle! Also have my fave Boardwalk Empire on the planner to watch later.
Have a lovely Sunday, Pam x
