Twits, and X Factor more exciting then dinner out...
Have got a few quotes in today's Sun newspaper about Lindsey Lohan and her Twitter addiction. I'm not surprised the poor girl's in rehab battling multiple addictions - including to tweeting - no one seems to be giving her any guidance.
It's easy to fool yourself with social networking that you're not spending that much time on it. But it's a slippery slope and usage can increase at a phenomenal rate.
And throw into the mix an addictive personality as Lindsey supposedly has where you're always looking for the next fix. Twitter’s so instantaneous it gives you that instant fix - you can’t wait for the next "instalment".
Also, celebs like Lindsey gets a buzz from the number of followers she has making her feel the centre of attention and that people really care about her. But it's not a lasting sort of satisfaction...so don't become a twit by spending all hours on it.
OMG - so looking forward to watching X Factor when I get in tonight - got the planner set to record it. Having dinner with friends - would they think I was rude if I'm a bit anxious to get home to see it?? Like, I'm telling them "your company’s so boring compared to what’s going to happen with Katie and Cher tonight" - ha ha. Just kidding - my pals aren't boring.
What happened to the sunny Saturday we were promised??
TODAY’S THOUGHT: guess you've got to make your own sunshine today! Spread some love and happiness, give someone a hug, make someone laugh… it's not that hard.
Must dash, boring chores to do before getting on my glad rags.
Happy Saturday, Pam X
