Poisoning guests, true heroine, dental phobia...
It's going to be a scorcher - so what does that mean? I'm going to poison a few friends with a barbecue! Hubby went fishing and caught some trout In the River Test so we're going to try barbecuing that with fresh herbs out of our herb pots.
Yay, we've bagged some tix to see Sweet Charity next Friday Night - hoping Tamsin Outhwaite is still in it - I once chatted to her in a ladies loo (yup, I know, we women will chat anywhere!) where there was an endless queue.
Have just posted up a new "your e-mail of the week" - it's a corker - or should I say Deb's boyfriend needs to put a cork in it... you'll see what I mean. Check it out on the home page under "your e-mail of the week" where the 'star' shape is.
So happy to see the heroic Christina Schmid (she is a phenomenon and a true role model) in the press throughout the week raising awareness and campaigning for the well-being of our soldiers. I hope she gets some sort of recognition for the work she is doing. I know she's not doing it for that, but we need to cherish such people for their work for community and country - and not just for themselves! Probably, though, Lindsy Lohan going to jail got more coverage - a sad reflection of our times.
And now for a little moan - lucky me, after work, I get to go to the dentist because I chomped on something hard and part of a filling has fallen out. I've struggled long and hard with a dental phobia after some "rogue" treatment years ago - it caused me huge problems and loads of pain - still, I always go when I have to - but I hate it.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I've treated many people with phobias and the very first thing to do you is to keep a diary for a week about when it strikes you - and what happens when you're fearful.
Yup, I know a dairy sounds boring but you need a baseline to start from. You need to chart with your fear. When you've got a good idea of the things that set off your phobic responses you can then start tackling them one step at a time. Check out the "powerful living" section of my site for an article on phobias.
At least after the "horror" of the dentist I'm catching up with a friend for early evening drinks tonight - think this weather calls for a Mojito - or some other tangy, tasty drink. Seeing as it's going to be scorching I'd prefer a mock-tail as alcohol gives me a headache in the heat. In fact I don't need alcohol to have fun as I'm lucky I get a natural high easily - gawd - just ask any of my long-suffering friends about the fits of giggles I can have - or daft things I can do - even when completely sober. But try and get a London bartender to mix you a mock-Mojito - missing nearly impossible!
Enjoy the sun, but put the block on, love, Pam X
