A start contrast, the good, the bad and the ugly about gossip, Pam Anderson spices things up....
A starker contrast couldn't be found between young hero Lt. Daniel Clack who died in Afghanistan serving our country and the yobs and criminals who terrorised parts of the country last week - nothing more needs to be said.
Looking forward to a chat on BBC radio Sussex & Surrey at 1.10 this afternoon about the Heartbreak Museum - sounds like a good idea to me.
Evidently we women are soooo guilty of gossiping - the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to talking about others. And if you believe one survey we gossip for up to five hours a day - wish I had that much time for gossip! In today's Express newspaper I've written a comment piece on it. The thing about gossip is some of it is harmless - and binds you together as a group of friends or colleagues.
But on the other hand gossip can be downright dangerous - completely wrong and damaging to the person who's the subject of it.
Oscar Wilde said there's nothing worse than being talked about except for not being talked about. And you might revel in having people interested in your life but it's another story if people are saying false things about you.
And talk about Big Brother gossip... so Pam Anderson is going into the celebrity BB house - a guy-pal of mine met her when she did Panto here in the UK and said she was actually incredibly sweet. I think the guys might read that for her having lots of ‘sweet’ curves - she's going to spice things up with the guys in there particularly single and hunky ones!
TODAY’S TIP: but back to workplace gossip - the first thing I'd recommend if you're the subject of gossip is to ignore it. Usually people move on quickly to the next big thing - the next story - that's going around.
If you know the gossip's damaging - maybe to your professionalism - and false then definitely speak to your manager about it. Sometimes it has to be nipped in the bud.
And if you have the opportunity to put the gossipers right tell them in no uncertain terms they've got the wrong story about you.
Then move on and hold your head high.
Take care of yourself, Pam X
