Cooling a relationship off, and that golden window....
Today on MSN UK Him Channel I've had a relationship article go live. It's all about when you decide you want to ‘cool things’ off a bit. It's not necessarily the end of the relationship - you just need a bit of time out.
It could be any reason from needing to focus more on work for a while or maybe you're just not sure about things. Cooling it off for a bit seems better than completely ruining it - because if you stay in it you realise the pressure might get too much.
If that's you then check out the article for advice on handling this delicate state of affairs... it could work out for the best if handled properly.
Seeing as it's Thursday I've just posted a new "your e-mail of the week" - I so appreciate all your e-mails but can only choose one each week to post. This week it's from Will - he's thinking about walking out on his marriage... if you’re also considering such a massive change take a look (select the ‘gold star’ on my homepage).
So Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakeley are engaged - let's hope they have better luck than the average footballer does in their relationships! I wish them the best of luck and hope they have realistic expectations for what it takes to go the distance with love.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: there’s a so-called relationship "golden window" for people to commit to each other between 18 months of starting dating and before they've been going out for over three years.
Get engaged before 18 months and you risk the problems of whirlwind relationships... but leave it more than three years and deep down one of you might not be that committed....and you’re being ‘dragged’ to the alter!
Christine and Frank are smack in the middle of this window so that’s a good sign.
Three of my favourite guys are at the top of the charts - Example, Tinchy and Calvin - think Tinchy's track is my fave by a tiny bit. The Hard Fi boys are back - new single Good For Nothing is a bit derivative - still, look forward to hearing the album.
Over to The Apprentice - we watched it late after dinner out with the houseguests at our local Thai restaurant (yummy!) - hilarious - who would buy a mag called Hip Replacement? Thought Jim should go (though I love his gorgeous accent) – there’s something a bit manipulative about him. Doubt he'll make it to the end.
Take care, Pam x
