Bad bedroom manners and getting caught up in things...
Running late today because of a "breakfast meeting". Not sure what bright spark invented those - but I don't really like them. I'm much more of a night owl and first thing in the morning find it hard to make sensible conversation - let alone put my make-up on straight!
If you've got a partner with bad manners in the bedroom then check out my column in this week's Love it! magazine - I advise a girl with just a problem. Also I'm putting up a new "your e-mail of the week" in a moment. Be warned: it's not for the faint hearted!
Found it harrowing listening to some eyewitness accounts last night about the Cumbria rampage. Particularly the man who cradled a dying woman – he’d done interview after interview (I caught parts of many of these) and typical of the media they couldn't see his distress escalate. By the last interview he was crying and showing signs of ‘survivor guilt’ and anger. Really he needed to be left in peace by that point, but the lure of doing another interview for eyewitnesses is very difficult to resist.
Having spoken to many such people over the years I find they start by giving a heartfelt interview because they want to be helpful. Naïvely they fail to realise that they immediately become a target for all media in the area. Every journalist wants a piece of them. It's hard to say No and yet they become distressed as they are put under more pressure for soundbites.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: not that for a moment I think you'll be caught up in any situation where the media wants a piece of you, but be aware that what starts as one helpful interview or soundbite, can often escalate beyond your control. You can say No to a journalist just as you can say No to anyone else who is demanding your time.
Loving that sexy little tune ‘Frisky’ by Tinie Tempa and hoping to catch some of Eminem live on Radio One - luuurrrve Not Afraid!
It's Friday - have fun! The barbecue’s coming out and friends are coming over to get poisoned by me! Take care, Pam X
