Your sexual fantasies, too tired for sex, body image....
Feel like a flight of fantasy? Check out my new fortnightly online column in the Sun newspaper - it goes live again later today - it's my Sex and Love Academy - hope you find it fun and, er... pretty hot stuff too.
If you're on their website go to "Woman” and it's in that section.
Sticking with sex - yesterday there was a report out about "sex-ercise" [something I wrote about at least 10 years ago] - this survey said 87% of women prefer exercising this way... burning calories by having sex.
This is ridiculous - they can't possibly mean that 87% of women are having sex regularly to lose weight - only about 10% of women have sex regularly. And most aren't doing it to lose weight - they're doing it for pleasure and to connect with their partner.
All other surveys find women are far too tired for sex and too tired for exercise - we juggle so much - trying to combine the two is just beyond the pale for most women.
That said, sex does burn calories so if you're having a good sex life it might have an extra payoff.
This makes me think of the body image research I've conducted - I know how many women [and a fair few men] struggle with their body image - believing their bodies are ugly, unsightly, etc. - and it affects their sex lives - feel too unattractive to strip off, have to have the lights off, don't like their partner touching them where they feel overweight, etc.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: Life's far too short to angst over your body. But if it's something you can change - like you're an unhealthy weight - then do something about it - because your health’s so important.
But if it's just about the lumps and bumps and misshapen bits we all have - you need to forget about it, love yourself and move on.
As two major department stores - Harrods and Selfridge's - open up Christmas counters it makes me never want to set foot in them again. It's flippin' July! Not that I pop into Harrods with much regularity!
Took time to read the lyrics to Eminem's Space Bound- gut-wrenching stuff - my God can he write a desperate lyric. Loving the tune but I hope you're never in that dark place!
Have a lovely weekend, Pam x
