Friends and family and loss...
Sorry - still have the glitch on my site putting in some weird things! :-(
Yay, the sunshine is back! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Saturday lunch at my good pal’s in Kent practically turned into Saturday supper also - she's a fab cook and made the best fish pie I think I've ever had. I know you're probably thinking fish pie is pretty basic but she had gorgeous jumbo prawns in it as well as various fish and lots of little tiny pieces of fresh vegetables and herbs. I've never made a fish pie that tasted like that!
Wow, surprised to see the rather hot pictures of Samantha Cameron that have surfaced in the press today! She always looks so demure and sophisticated - of course a very pretty woman but not one you'd think would pose for some seductive looking shots. But haven't most of us women wondered about that? I don't know what got into me once when I posed for some rather racy ones for the News of the World when I had a column in that paper. We actually changed them quite quickly into something a little bit less racy!
But then again life is short so why not have fun like that - it's not like I was naked or anything. However Carla Sarkozy's very pert bottom was rather naked in the shots that have surfaced of her. What's going on with celebrity women and shots from their youth popping up??
Back to the homefront - just had news that one of my three older brothers will be coming through in May for a visit which will be lovely. Sometimes we feel so disconnected from family as we’re all far flung.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: are you feeling rather far flung from family members? Sometimes it's hard to even start e-mailing when you've left it a long time. I know, I've had that feeling where I think "do I, don't I?" send them an e-mail as it's been so long? I always find it’s better to do so. Because 99% of people you know will be happy to hear from you even if you've left it a bit long.
Later today I'm doing an interview on BBC radio Newcastle about happiness. I've never spoken to Simon Logan before but I hear he’s a fun and lively presenter it'll be some time between 140 and 215 pm.
I'm very sad as we've got a 'going away' dinner tonight for one of my children who’s going on ‘sabbatical’ to the far east for three months. They've got leave from their job and are going on a great photographic adventure. Of course I’m over the moon and thrilled for them but at the same time we'll miss them so much. But of course I don't burden my child with that!! Never burden your child with your own feelings of loss when they go out the door on some big adventure.
Watch out for the new "your e-mail of the week" that I'll post later - so you still got time if you want to e-mail a dilemma, a thought or a point of view.
Enjoy your Monday, Pam X
