Think about that shy person...
I woke up feeling great and by 11 AM had one of those throats that's going around. Doesn't mean I can get out of work and I've been writing a feature on shyness today for The Express newspaper. You might know all about this, or someone you know might suffers from shyness - and it's no fun.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: When I notice someone where I work or maybe at a party who seems to "keep themself to themself" my shyness antenna goes up. I like to make a point of getting them involved in a bit of a chat. I know because when I was young I was fairly shy - believe it or not. And it's reasurring for someone to take them under your wing like that. Try it with the shy person you've noticed.
In fact the shyest people I meet are often radio presenters - and having done 13 years of radio work I've met a fair few! I'm not naming names but you'd be surprised how someone's radio personality is very different from their real, off-air one - often a lot quieter… and shyer. See the 'Powerful Living' section for loads of shyness tips.
Tonight I'm going to see the wonderful and talented James McAvoy in the new film about Tolstoy - "The Last Station". And I've just been told that the still-handsome Christopher Plummer plays Tolstoy - what a treat! B**ger the sore throat I'm not going to miss this screening.
Till tomorrow or one day soon, Pam x
