Don't sit on your pain, toddlers, tragedy, and romance...
In today's Daily Express newspaper I've written an article about not ignoring it when you feel pain. The story relates to me slipping and breaking my tailbone (ouch!) earlier this year (nope, it wasn't from swilling cocktails and skittering around in high heels!). I literally sat on my pain for two months before seeing the doc when it turned out there was something they could do about it.
This ties in with research just out about women suffering heart attacks who tend to ignore the pain in their chest/arm for a few hours before seeking help. This can lead to heart damage.
The moral of the story? Yep, don't rush off to the doc for a scraped knee but also listen to your body.
Calling all romantics-at-heart - amazing news about William and Kate finally getting engaged! After the bad press they've had I wish them a happy future as I would any couple embarking on marriage.
Looks like Louis and Cheryl continued their X Factor row after the show – there’s a pic in one of the papers. Just want to shake them and tell them to grow up, huh? They’re paid a fortune to judge some music acts - some of dubious talent. How hard can it be not to fall out like a pair of spoilt toddlers?
On a serious note, what a horrendous tragedy for the husband and family of the young bride murdered in South Africa. Can’t imagine what they're going through. I hope to goodness the husband's grief isn’t compounded by survivor’s guilt.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: treasure the people you love today. Don't leave it till tomorrow. Let each person you love know that they count. Love is precious and life can be short - don't squander either.
Now, I don't want to stay serious, so let's think about the report out today that loads of men would rather play a computer game then be romantic. Okay, as an agony aunt I've heard this 1 million times but I'm sure there'll be plenty of women reading this with a sinking feeling.
As I always say about romance - lead with your own behaviour. If you show him some romantic gestures then you might just coax it out of him. Loads of romance tips in my "love and romance section" on my homepage.
Already have Any Human Heart on my planner for Sunday night - one of my favourite books by William Boyd. Can’t wait to see how they treat it as a television series.
Enjoy your Tuesday, Pam X
