There's not one rule when it comes to sexism, gorgeous gowns...
Just posted a new "your e-mail of the week" - from 'Jane' - sadly trying to conceive a baby with her partner has damaged things between them. Click on the "Gold Star" on my homepage to see my advice or e-mail me. I really really wish I could answer every e-mail - sadly I work very long hours and run the site myself so simply can't.
Fascinating to watch the national sexism row erupt - my feeling is that men and women are equally sexist about each other. Hands up my girlfriends and I often talk/joke in derisory ways about men...but equally we all love men and most of us have partner.
Problem is you can't make a one-size rule that fits-all because it's all about who is saying what... if it's some grizzled old misogynistic man ridiculing women - no one likes it. But if it's a man who actually likes women, and is making a bit of a joke, no one seems to mind.
And vice versa when it comes to women ridiculing men. Let's not lose our sense of humour in all of this - I'm the first one to laugh at blonde jokes... there's enough problems in the world without looking to create others and getting po-faced about every little joke or comment.
Did you see that Come Dine With Me series last week featuring the rude Marcello? Yep, he was so rude I would've booted him out of my dinner party - and I feel his fellow diners were incredibly patient - but the threats he's getting are frightening. I think the comments from his fellow diners that he would've seen last week were enough punishment - they were pretty darn clear about their feelings when speaking to camera.
V happy As the Manic Street Preaches special gig with Absolute radio is back on next week - it was cancelled a couple months ago due to illness in the band - loved their album came out last year.
Some of the gowns worn at last night's National Television Awards pictured in today's papers were fabulous - Holly Willoughby looked amazing in her elegant black dress and I loved the style of Myleene Klass’s Grecian-look gown... but sack the stylist - that canary yellow was awful. Then again you could put a sack on Myleene and she’d look fabulous.
Also loving Cheryl Cole’s sexy black dress that revealed her ‘tramp stamps’.
It was great to meet up with one of my best guy-pals at the Century Club last night and to meet one of his friends - love meeting new people - even when it's someone who lives in another country (she lives in Paris) and you may not ever see them again.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I used to always make the effort when there was someone new at work to grab them for a coffee because I'll never forget one hospital I worked at where it was all of three months before someone made an effort. A disheartening time to say the least!
It's awful being the 'newby' when others are too busy or disinterested to make you feel welcome. So if there's someone new where you work make a point of saying hello today – they’ll appreciate it!
Take care, Pam x
