Love cheats, teddies and differences between the sexes...
Did a little chat on BBC radio Devon about what makes a good on-screen partnership with the new One Show starting on BBC1 tonight. I'm sure Jason Manford and Alex Jones have been working hard on their on-screen chemistry!
Oh dear, I hope Abbey Clancy’s going to dump Peter Crouch once and for all - you can't get more evidence that the man's a love cheat through and through... he was pictured over the weekend in "overly friendly" clinches with a bevy of beauties.
Evidently ex-GMTV presenter Emma Crosby might work across the pond in America despite being in a serious relationship. Long distance relationships can work but they need to be executed with military precision. My top tip - keep things light and fun on the phone, send each other tiny little surprises, and don't put too much pressure on each other when you get together for a weekend that it's going to be absolute bliss.
That kind of pressure is hard to live up to. With this blasted recession I hear increasingly of people having to go further afield to find work or develop their career. If that's you, be wise about it and it will work!
Heaven forbid if my husband had come to bed with a teddy… I'd never have married him!
In the papers today there's a report about how many adults go to bed with a cuddly toy. I'm sorry but that might be something you do as a singleton but if you're starting to date - and plan to have someone share your bed - a cuddly toy is the last thing they'll want to find in your bed.
As an agony aunt I've had plenty of letters along these lines - where new partners are flummoxed by the things the people they've just started dating, keep in their bedroom including cuddly toys.
But also I've had plenty of letters about real pets (cats, dogs, parrots!) presenting formidable problems when you first land yourself in the bedroom with your new lover.
Think about putting these things away when you're seducing a new person with your charms! Stick that teddy in the attic so they don't think you're stuck in childhood. When you've captured their heart - and sure they won't run a mile - you can always them to teddy.
So, some research out today says that men and women actually aren't that different - don't believe it for a minute! But, the picture is confusing with some brain studies showing gender differences and others, like this one, showing far more similarities.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: you know what I say? Viva le difference! I love the fact that I'm different from my hubby - and he's different from me. I relish my femininity and his masculinity. It's wonderful that there are differences to keep things interesting.
Go on, enjoy your differences, rather than fighting over them!
Love, Pam X
