A bit of a disaster, beauty and brains go together, boost your mood...
So it’s true, Cheryl Cole was axed from the US X Factor but I'm sure we'll see her on our version - Cheryl's got a very nasty taste of how quickly things can crash down around your head particularly with international celeb-dom.
Is it really a disaster for her? Nope, she's going to get pots of money as a payout (probably far more than most of us could hope to earn in a lifetime) and she'll undoubtedly be welcomed back here - so many guys I know lurve her - she'll be just fine.
Over to another reality show disaster - The Apprentice - you'd think some of the ‘top’ business minds in the country could sell a few beauty products...well they couldn't. I've worked as a consultant with some cosmetics companies (from a psychological perspective) and believe me there are brains in the marketing machines of beauty products. Why the apprentice hopefuls thought it'd be a walk in the park is beyond me - it's a multibillion pound industry!
Looking forward to being a guest on The Vanessa Show again next week – we have a fun chat lined-up about a topic to be revealed.
Now for some heartening and real news - the capture of the Serbian perpetrator of genocide Ratko Mladic captured - may he rot in jail!
Tonight I'm seeing the last night of comedian Mark Steel’s tour at the Bloomsbury Theatre - a great end to the week. Mark's another one of these super-smart stand-ups that I love.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: as soon as the weather changes (as it has in the last couple days) I hear from people who feel down. Cloudy, rainy days have a huge impact on our mood. One quick tip is to get some comedy in your life - I've said it before and I mean it - go see a stand up, buy your favourite comedy on DVD to re-watch (highly recommend Modern Family), watch the comedy channel, etc.
Laughter boosts endorphins and those make you feel better.
Had lunch with a couple colleagues that are now also friends yesterday – one’s seven months preggers – so exciting!
Happy Friday, Pam x
