Oh, happy day...
Today is a very happy day as one of my children returns from the far east - can't wait to see their smiling face at Heathrow! When they flew out three months ago it was freezing cold and today they're landing in sunshine. After three months of oriental food - that they love - no surprises they've asked for a sausage and mash dinner tonight!
I had a blast yesterday and spoke to radio stations ranging from BBC radio Kent (the lovely Andy Garland there) to Martel at Sun talk radio, Henry and Juju at Colourful Radio, Leighton at Swansea Sound, and so many other fab presenters.
This was all for the Aviva ‘Tell us your story’ campaign - if you want to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to a local hero, or a loved one who pulled out the stops for you, then check it out.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: one major part of the research I assisted with was about how much a simple thank you or how feeling appreciated can boost someone's happiness. Why don't we do it? Why don't we tell people that we appreciate them? Why don't we say what they mean to us, or even say a simple thank you for a job well done? Get doing it today - I know I try and show my appreciation.
Go on, DJ Example, you can do it, and grab the No. 1 slot this weekend - was disappointed to hear he was No. 3 in the midweek chart. He’s my favourite DJ of the moment!
The most bizarre coincidence happened to me last night. I've been reading Lady Chatterley’s Lover - (read it in high school or college) the scandalous book of a century ago that quite frankly amuses me with its extraordinary terminology when it comes to sex. But, hey ho, it was scandalous back then even if it seems exceedingly innocent now. Had on Radio Four as I brushed my teeth (the station to help you sleep at night) and they were doing a spoof on that very book - what a bizarre coincidence! Completely random, I know.
I hope to post a new "your e-mail of the week" later today so get them into me - and many thanks to those of you who already have!
Enjoy your day, Pam, X
