Put your foot down, wish I could focus like the pros do....
Looked like a drowned rat by the time I got home last night after having drinks with a friend early evening in Soho... got caught in a massive downpour - felt like a November night.
Got a cosy blanket and curled up in front of EastEnders on BBC3 at 10 PM...the one benefit of the hubby spending the night at his mum's in the Midlands (before driving back today with her) was I didn't have to care a jot that my hair was hanging down in damp, tangled clumps for the rest of the evening while it dried out - slobbing out or what?...so Maz is finally standing up to Zainab - about time too. I know he's got the wrong end of the stick - she hasn't had an affair (a bit of an emotional one, yes) but she's been particularly horrible to him.
And it's about time Shirley put her foot down about Phil helping Rainy beat the bottle... you'd never have a sponsor that's an ex-lover! Such bad research by the EastEnders writers must frustrate alcohol support groups like AA.
So Andy Murray scraped through after nail-biting tennis yesterday... where was the Valium bottle? Arghh, the mental stamina he must have to keep that up! Let's hope he’s resting, getting focused and ready for his fourth round match.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: maybe you think tennis is a complete bore - Alan Carr was hysterical about the tennis last night - one thing they can learn there is focus from so many of the players. Nothing distracts them.
Wish I could focus like the pros - if you could focus like that at your desk every day - you'd get your work done in a quarter of the time...yay, more time for fun and laughter with friends and family.
The mum-in-law’s about to arrive - time to make a spread for lunch. Have a lovely weekend, Pamx
