Obsessional behaviour and a few regrets...
I've heard from the producer at Dublin News talk radio where I do my weekly agony slot at 10 AM that we have some quite complicated dilemmas today. One woman is right to be concerned that her husband (who lost his job a few months ago) is getting obsessed with a particular television programme - Mad Men - and watches it day in and day out.
It's scary seeing an obsession develop in a loved one. Listen in on the Net if obsessional behaviour is affecting your life. And drop me a text or me e-mail - maybe yours will get chosen. I love working with Tom Dunne at News talk radio - a wise, funny, and warm presenter.
If you've just had a new baby check out my new article on iVillage.co.uk - it's just gone 'live' today. I include lots of practical tips to help your relationship to stay on track in these joyful but exhausting months. I wrote it after seeing Danni Minogue pictured with her new son Ethan - and for a change allowing herself a more natural and less made-up look.
Sticking with parenting the actor Emma Thompson has become one of my new female heroines! She's quoted today in various papers saying that women can’t have it all and that it's a "revolting idea" to peddle this nonsense.
She's absolutely right and as a working mother I've been there and done that - and only realised about six or seven years ago that I didn't have to do it all! Hmm… regrets, I've had a few, and working too hard in past years is definitely one of them.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: if you're a working mother, at every opportunity reassess the hours you do and the way you run your life. Your child's childhood passes in the blink of an eye - believe me it does. If you can arrange your life in a way that suits you best, do everything in your power to do it.
Got to go, enjoy your Tuesday, Pam X
