Reclaim his attention from his boy toy, worried about your weight in the run-up to Christmas...
If he gets a new boy toy for Christmas - iPad, Xbox, etc. - you might have to reclaim his attention so in today's Sun newspaper I've given some top tips to finding compromise. Check-a-look if it's going to stress you out because he ignores you or the family over Christmas.
And yes, I do know that some women will disappear with their iPads, etc.!
Loved seeing Robin Ince, Prof Brian Cox, Ben Goldacre, Simon Singh and all those smart, funny people at the Hammersmith Apollo last night after an early Christmas drinks party. To top it off we had some sushi - all-in-all what I call a perfect evening - comedy, good company, tasty food.
I've had so many e-mails about people worried about their weight [okay girls, these 'people' are mainly you!]. It seems everyone's panicking in the run up to Christmas. Fear not, try the following practical tips.
TODAY’S TIP: Don't go out hungry to a party - particularly a party where lots of finger foods are going to be served because party food is notoriously chock-full of calories.
Have something nourishing and filling like a bowl of porridge before you go out - then you can enjoy a few top party treats rather than scoffing loads of them down.
Christmas cocktails are also packed with calories so alternate having one with a non-alcoholic water-based drink with lots of ice cubes, a squirt of lime or something in it for flavour.
If you drink too much and get a craving for curry - don't go to the Indian take away at 1 AM! Go home and have another bowl of porridge or a slice of wholemeal toast - both filling but not full of calories.
Definitely enlist a crisis buddy to ring up if you're going to go on a calorie binge.
Good luck, be strong, Pam x
