Myths and misunderstandings between the sexes...
From the important - huge good health vibes to Nelson Mandela who is in hospital - a true inspiration to many generations at 93...
to the trivial [but that's life] - broke in my new high heels from Dune at a friend's birthday drinks last night. They need to come with a warning: don't cross your ankles because they have buckles down the side - laddered tights just trampy!
On to men and women - so who thought that little thing called the battle of the sexes was finished? It's 2012 and you'd think we'd know better but we're still pretty darn confused about relationships.
And we make those massive and often dodgy assumptions about each other - like men are commitment shy and women are desperate to pin someone down... so not true...well true in some cases!
Yesterday I commented in the Huffington Post UK website about a large survey finding a third of men would marry even if they were really in love but things were pretty good I guess.
You know these results didn't really surprise me as I find many men reach what I call the "commitment threshold" more quickly than women. If they feel comfortable in a relationship then that is often the most important thing to them. Never underestimate the need for a 'comfort zone' for a man.
Many women appear to want to settle down quickly but in actual fact go through much angst about what they really want and if he is 'Mr. Right'. Whereas a man will think, "this feels good so she must be Mrs. Right."
Tune recommendation - if you want a funky laid-back but generally uplifting vibe check out Kindness ... love their style too - it's very "be yourself" Gee Up & Cyan partic faves.
TODAY’S TIP: As with all these things finding a happy middle ground satisfies most people. You can angst about every detail of her relationship and led a pretty darn good one go - or you can settle too quickly.
The key things? Pretty simple... if you treat each other well, enjoy each other's company, can share a laugh, and can face the bad times together then sounds like a fantastic starting point for true love.
Happy Saturday, Pam x
