BB, a social conscience and get me that 'stress jab'...
Had fun writing some Big Brother body language analysis for the Orange website - it's gone live today. Sad to see Ben get evicted Friday night - at times Ben might've seemed a touch bitchy and snobbish but I think he had a good heart. And how hilarious could he be at times - often without realising?
Chelsea Clinton looked beautiful for her wedding day - but how can you reckon spending £2,000,000 on your wedding day? If you had any kind of social conscience wouldn't that eat away at you? Why not spend 500,000 (still a VAST sum!) and put the rest to a new children's Hospital somewhere it's desperately needed.
I can't imagine ever having such wealth, but if I did I hope I'd still have a social conscience!
Get me the stress jab...NOW!
There was a report in The Sunday Times about a potential 'stress inoculation' being developed at Stanford University, California.
My immediate reaction is to get hold of it PDQ (pretty darn quick) - a "let me at it now!" reaction - though evidently it's going be quite a few years before it's available to humans.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: My second reaction is that the 'stress industry’ is out of control - it hypes things up and gives people the excuse to use stress as the explanation/excuse for all their ills.
Such a ready excuse can bring out the worst in us and ‘feeling stressed’ becomes our crutch. I always say in the articles I write about stress - identify what the problem or issue is that it's making you feel out of control. Then try and sort it!
Seeing a report that George Clooney might be ready to marry his present girlfriend my question is: What kind of foolish woman would marry gorgeous George?
Can you imagine life married to such a Hollywood heartthrob, you could never relax! Not only would he be the focus of every single woman's attention but how much anxiety would it provoke in you worrying about putting on even an ounce of weight, having a hair out of place, etc.
To be less than perfect when spliced to someone like George could just be your downfall. Who wants that kind of pressure??
Enjoy your Monday, Pam X
