Fab to be back, is your man blowing hot and cold, some mind blowing hikes to take...
Hello there, landed at Heathrow this afternoon - back from an amazing two and half weeks - mainly hiking in California and Nevada - OMG my legs are still killing me!
Stateside recommendations to come in a moment but first my weekly blog on iVillage.co.uk went live today and it's a dilemma I get tons of e-mails about:
when a man blows hot and cold when you're trying to begin a relationship with him - and sometimes over a number of months. This is a horrible situation to be put in because one minute he's loving and fun to be with - the next he disappears or can't be bothered.
It's our girls' nature to see the good in most people which is why these guys get away with it. A woman hangs on to her good memories of happy times with him and filters out the times he can't be bothered. If you're in this situation do check it out for advice.
TODAY’S TIP: if he acts like he doesn't care, talks like he doesn't care, walks like he doesn't care... then he probably doesn't care!
Stop fooling yourself if you're going through this. Think about what you'd tell your best friend if her boyfriend was treating her this way - you'd tell her to dump him!
If you're into hiking in the great outdoors in here are some of the highlights of my California trip - if you can make it over there definitely check out:
The Pinnacles, southern Monterey County - the nearest thing you can get to walking through the scenes from the film 127 Hours depicting how climber/hiker Aron Ralston had to hack off his arm after being trapped in a narrow canyon.
Great for moderate hiking.
At Yosemite - the Vernal Falls hike - then up to Nevada Falls - breathtaking scenery but three people lost their lives at these particular falls in July - so no messing about and slipping on the rocks!
Also at Yosemite - the Yosemite Upper Falls hike - very strenuous but worth it - at the top there's a view that's not for the faint-hearted.
Mariposa Sequoia Grove hike - border of Mariposa and Yosemite Counties - a perfect wind-down hike when you have aching legs. Have a beautiful stroll amongst the huge trees.
Lake Tahoe - Cascades Falls - yet more fantastic scenery and moderately strenuous.
So much has happened in the last couple weeks - I hope you've had a good fortnight and I look forward to reading your e-mails. We had the 10th anniversary of 9/11 - some phenomenal stories of courage were broadcast Stateside - they made me so tearful - and so thankful that we got past that date without another tragedy.
Missed my friends and my cats sooooo much - not necessarily in that order! J
Missed out on a lot of work including being invited to contribute a couple times to This Morning telly - sorry to miss that as they have such a great team over there.
Heading for an early bedtime...eek, can't face any jet lag! Pam x
