Serious matters and little moments...
It's sad but not surprising after Gary Speed's suicide that I've had some e-mails from people with suicidal thoughts. The suicide of a public figure - that gets lots of news coverage - sometimes brings out these feelings in others that have been lurking in the back of their mind - or that they've actively been trying to fight.
And sometimes such a death makes them realise they should share them and get help.
I'm thankful that some people have decided to share these feelings. I've always said that “secrets make you sicker" and if you keep these feelings (that you might be ashamed of) secret they can grow so powerful that they take over your rational side that's been trying to control them.
TODAY’S TIP: please seek help - through The Samaritans, speak to your GP, reach out to a trusted friend or family member - do not sit on these feelings and hope they'll go away. For most people they do - but for some they don't.
Also please try to find a glimmer of hope each and every day. Think of the one thing that puts a smile on your face - maybe it's the neighbour’s cat that sits on your fence looking so sweet.
Or maybe there's a dodery little couple that like they've been together 100 years and who hold hands every day as they walk down your road to the shops. I've got one of those in my street! And they look so sedately at ease with the world.
Whatever the little moments of your life please hold on to them and please get help.
Take care of yourself, Pam x
