Healing rifts, losing weight...
Last night on Sue Marchant's BBC radio Eastern Counties show we chatted about all sorts of dilemmas during the agony slot I do. We started with how to heal a rift in your family before Christmas so that you can all get together feeling happy in each other's company. Tall order in some families!
We also talked about weight loss tips because of the amazing photos of comedian Dawn French in yesterday's papers - she's lost 4 stones having changed her lifestyle and is feeling much happier. No one should feel pressured to be a size 10 but you should aim for feeling healthy and fit.
TODAY’S TIP: When it comes to weight loss always discuss it with your doctor first because you may need to see a nutritionist.
And definitely keep a diary over one week of when you snack/head for the biscuit tin. You might find there a pattern to your emotional triggers - the things that send you snacking - like when your boss has told you off or your partner's been ignoring you.
Look for an alternative behaviour when feeling stressed by these emotional triggers. Instead of snacking go for a walk or ring a friend and have a lovely chat till that urge to eat passes. More tips in the 'Powerful Living' section on my homepage.
Thinking of weight - and the other extreme - shocking pix out today in Closer magazine of the anorexic mother who wears the same size clothes as her 7-year-old daughter.
Where is the help this woman desperately needs? You just know there's likely to be a tragic ending - the mother might die, the daughter will be terribly burdened and depressed. It's a reflection of the state of her mind that she'd spend time on a magazine shoot when she should be looking after herself.
Take care of yourself, Pam x ps Oh no, the evil Yusef is still prowling EastEnders!
