Absolutely gutted, wanted to throw something at the radio, cooking tips
Omg, watched the first part of this week's Silent Witness and absolutely gutted that Harry was murdered - how could they do that to us?! I love his 'dark horse' type of personality.
I wanted to throw something at the radio this morning as I was listening to Radio 4. A union leader was seemingly trying to find reasons to strike and it was obvious he wants to make more of a name for himself. So I'll make a point of not naming him.
He seems to hope there'll be public service union strikes over the cuts all of us have to face. Potentially such strikes will just make everything more miserable. I make a point never to cross a picket line where possible - however with the state of the country we all must accept there are cuts and we should probably suck it up now and hope in a few years time we'll be in a better position.
If you're telling ‘harmless fibs’ check out "hot off the press" on my homepage. I've posted an article I wrote about some aspects of why we fib. Are you fibbing too much and possibly over things you don't need to? Worth considering!
We all fib - I do at times as it sometimes makes life a little bit easier - but I try not to very often. The last time was about sparing someone's feelings so I don't think that's so bad.
But these things can slip out of control and one of my girlfriends is going out with someone who seems to tell perpetual white lies. Doesn't bode at all well! It certainly won't if he turns out to be a pathological liar. She knows she has to keep an eye on this but otherwise he seems to be everything she wants.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: I told her that the good outcome will be if it turns out his fibbing is about insecurity and he's trying too hard to impress her. I see this all the time in my work - people confide in me that they've been trying to impress someone and the truth is about to come out. They get in a panic and want to know how to face it.
Think about these things before you end up telling such a big fib that you're frightened of the truth being revealed.
So disappointed n Brown's in Covent Garden - met one my very best friends there yesterday afternoon to have coffee and cake for her birthday (neither of us could make it a whole evening) and the service has gone downhill and the things on offer were not at all nice. We wanted a tasty cake or two and were sadly disappointed - we're not going back.
We're making pad Thai for guests tomorrow - now that’s one dish I can manage. I always use fresh instead out of a jar - so fresh chopped ginger, garlic, chilies, lime, etc. In the sauce to stir the noodles in. And then I sprinkle fresh coriander, chopped peanuts, coconut and more lime on top.
I've tried all sorts of slim oriental noodles and I think the white rice ones aren't as good as the yellow egg ones.
Have a lovely weekend! Pam X
