Are you agonising over a loved one's problem?
After 10 AM I'm doing my weekly agony slot on Dublin News talk radio - if you have a chance tune in the Net and send in a dilemma. The producer tells me we've got a good selection of dilemmas today including a man who’s concerned about his wife's constant anxiety and a woman who’s concerned about her new bed boyfriend’s lack of confidence.
I'm always amazed how people get in touch with an agony show about problems that someone in their life has. It shows a great deal of concern and worry - plus how we often don't know what to do to help the people we love most.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: the top tip I'd give in this situation (and believe me I've been there sometimes when I don't know what to do about someone I care about) is just to listen and keep listening and then reflect back to the person asking them what they think they should do. Sometimes when we're suffering with a problem, we don't realise that we have the solution within us. And it takes someone who cares about us just nudge us into thinking about it and we start to realise we can solve it.
Started my day with The Drums - check them out for their unique sound.
Had a lovely time with my adopted English gran in Tunbridge Wells yesterday - I have this group of friends from my Uni days - and we all love her to bits - and we took a fantastic picnic to hers. She had the champagne chilled and we had a lovely lunch making a fuss over her.
Enjoy the sunshine, love, Pam X
