Disaster - football and true grit disaster...
You can't always get what you want (the footie in a minute) - gutted to have BBLB ring about being a guest on Wednesday's show and I've already got something I can't move in the diary. The gorgeous George Lamb will have to wait another week! Think BBLB looks fab with him presenting this year with Emma Willis.
What a disaster! What can we all learn from the way the Germans seemed to work together as a team!? Enough said, I'll leave post-match commentary to the experts.
What with the Americans also crashing out on Saturday - there go my two teams. As I said a couple weeks ago, it’s a real tear between my loyalties having both citizenships - my heart belongs to both England and America.
Well, I wrote a fun piece in the Sun newspaper over the weekend - when things were still rosy and optimistic about England's chances. It was how to take ‘footie fever’ and use it in the bedroom. Research shows that the 'adrenaline surge' a fan gets during a game can translate into great sex. I think the nation's too depressed for sex today!
The other thing I'd like to say - that'll infuriate some football fans - is it's fine to have a day of 'mourning' over the football and then put the England team loss into perspective . There are so many of our soldiers suffering from terrible injuries from Afghanistan and Iraq - now that's a real disaster. They have to have true grit to overcome the disaster that's befallen them!
Besides the two matches, I had a great weekend including seeing my lovely cousin, her husband and children visiting from LA and we all went out to a Thai restaurant last night - which was sorely disappointing. Don't you just hate it when you take visitors out somewhere and it's really bad? It’s Thai Square, South Kensington, I've been there before and the food’s been tasty and fresh. Not last night!
Still not convinced by the latest photograph of Simon Cowell kissing his fiancee in the press today! It just seems contrived. But, oh well, maybe they've got a certain sort of relationship where a passionate kiss doesn't mean much - the strength of feeling matters more than the physical touch.
TODAY’S THOUGHT: please get out in the sunshine today if you're feeling down in the dumps - whether it's football or something else that's troubling you, it's a perfect summer day and hopefully this'll put a smile on your face.
Here's to a happy Monday - if you can manage it - and a good week, Pam X
