Paunchy men and scents & smells...
So much in the papers but was particularly drawn to the hilarious pictures (or should that be ludicrous pics?) of Prince Andrew having suntan lotion rubbed into him by a beautiful brunette. Now what could a young, lithe, beautiful brunette see in a paunchy, middle-aged, wealthy prince?? Evidently it's innocent frolicking as she is married to a friend of his.
Still, I guess that's what every middle-aged man needs - a beautiful woman to stroke their ego - particularly after reading reports in yesterday's papers saying that middle-aged men are increasingly worried about going grey, followed by developing a paunch.
Then there was a lovely little article about "a whiff can waft us back in time". There are so many scents and smells that whisk me back in time and are associated with happy (and sometimes unhappy) moments.
Give me the whiff of cinnamon and I think of my late mother's cinnamon bread. Give me a whiff of certain Californian plants and I think of my late father and his beautiful garden.
Oh dear, don't let me near a baby as I'm wafted back to when my children were babies - that lovely baby smell. Er… unless it's nappy changing time!
TODAY’S THOUGHT: would love to hear from you in "your e-mail of the week" if a particular smell evokes memories for you. Next week I could post a selection.
I think we underestimate the power of our senses - when people are trying to rekindle sensuality in their relationship I often encourage techniques that get them back in touch with their sense of touch, smell, taste, etc.
Swamped by work, hope you aren't, enjoy your Friday! Pamx
